We carry our structural surveys for both property owners and prospective purchasers requiring a general health check on the skeletal structure ie walls, floors and roof structure etc.
Such surveys are appropriate where either there are suspected structural issues (eg cracks, movement, sagging roofs etc), old and tired buildings or where a discerning client simply requires our most comprehensive inspection rather than a localised structural report to provide second opinions on defects already identified by others. Eg a Surveyor.
NB The Mortgage/ Surveying profession use the term ‘Building Survey’ to describe the surveyors most comprehensive survey and this will include general comments on “structure” but will normally refer any structural concerns to someone like ourselves. See Structural Engineers reports for second opinion advice, above.
Our reports appraise the fundamental building structure in detail and include comments on Building Regulations alterations.
We do not provide Mortgage valuations Homebuyers and RICS style Building Surveys and frequently refer prospective clients to our Chartered Surveyor colleagues when a ‘structural’ emphasis is not required.
